After being awarded the most improved tournament in 2016, Greg Norman Champions Golf Academy (GNCGA) located in North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, was excited to host their annual AJGA tournament.
GNCGA recently hosted their fourth annual  tournament which took place August 6th-10th, 2017. The AJGA is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to the overall growth and development of young men and women who aspire to earn college golf scholarships through competitive junior golf.
The field size was 78 players and consisted of both girls and boys ages 12-19. The format of the tournament was 54 holes, stroke play and was played on the Norman Course at Barefoot Resort and Golf. The course was open to anyone who wanted to watch: parents, spectators, college coaches, friends, etc.
The tournament began with a qualifier on Sunday August 6th, practice round on the 7th, round one on the 8th, round two on the 9th and round three on the 10th. Due to weather a few days, AJGA staff called for a shotgun start instead of having tee times. These juniors have unbelievable rounds and shoot outstanding numbers. They sure do work hard and put in a lot of hours in order to improve and prepare for college.
Congratulations to Connor Burgess who shot 70-70-71 for a total of 211 for the boys and Christine Wang who shot 70-71-75 for a total of 216 for the girls on taking first place in the tournament. We look forward
