GNCGA has been enjoying the XLIX Campeonato Sudamericano de Golf Juvenil por Equipos (49th Junior South American Championship by teams) tournament in Venezuela. The Venezuelan Golf Federation is organizing this year’s tournament, but this tournament is sanctioned by the Federacion Sudamericana de Golf (South American Golf Federation).
There are 10 South American countries participating in this tournament: Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Chile, Ecuador, Paraguay, Peru, Uruguay and Venezuela. Each of these countries are represented by three males and three females. What is really neat about this tournament is that the 1st and 2nd place teams for both boys and girls, will classify in order to be able to go to the World Cup in Japan. The event is covered by local media and also the Golf Channel in Latin America. This tournament rotates location within all of the 10 countries mentioned above, which means this tournament will be played in Venezuela 10 years from now. How awesome is that!
Yesterday, March 30, 2016, was the first day of the tournament and the live scoring can be accessed at juvenil.fvg.org.
